While the kitchen in this Clayton home offered a cozy and inviting atmosphere, the owners felt that it was time for an update to reflect their evolving personal tastes. They brought in the design experts Home Revision LLC to give the kitchen a much-needed facelift, which began with the removal of the floral wallpaper that had become a focal point of the space. The wall covering was replaced with cool green tones that were chosen to complement the newly painted and glazed maple wood cabinetry, which now features a clean and crisp shade of ivory. To ensure that a warm and welcoming feel was retained in the room, the hardwood floors were refinished and darkened, providing a nice balance to the color scheme. And the highlight of the room became the uninterrupted glass backsplash, which was achieved by moving up all of the electrical receptacles and switches and placing them under the cabinets. Finally, additional features such as new granite countertops, under-cabinet LED lighting, a wine cooler and a relocated prep sink infused the now sophisticated and stylish kitchen with an equal amount of function and aesthetic appeal.
